Stakeholder Engagement is an essential component of risk reduction and opportunity optimization for organizations.  In addition, it is a requirement of sustainability reporting under frameworks such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Sustainability Accounting Standard’s Board (SASB).

Engage International's Wendy Firlotte will cover employee engagement in this interactive two-week course.  Explore and understand more effectively how to develop a well-rounded approach to stakeholder engagement by successfully integrating corporate social responsibility into your sustainability programs.

Organizations of all sizes and functions consistently indicate their biggest employee engagement pain point is lack of participation.  The primary hurdle here is that few organizations are able to authentically translate their engagement strategies into aligned and transformational employee action.  We often link effectiveness with being purpose driven and embedding sustainability within the organization, but what does that mean exactly?  Essentially, we are looking for ways to mobilize employees and resources toward a shared sustainability purpose.  In other words, what we want to know is how do we start a sustainability movement?

In this course, we will cover the foundations for planning and implementing a sustainability engagement strategy.   We will break down the process and framework needed to create an effective sustainability movement and the key elements for success from start to finish.

Participants will examine:

  1. What is a sustainability engagement strategy & its benefits
  2. Steps to starting a sustainability movement
  3. The fundamental features for building buy-in at every level
  4. How to scale program efforts across the organization
  5. The basics for systemizing program implementation & tracking
  6. The “all-in” approach for sustainability engagement and program planning
  7. The relevant concepts and approaches that foster a more sustainable culture & embed aligned employee action
  8. How to analyze and assess organizational strengths and challenges in order to apply relevant approaches for program implementation
